Science

Investigation

This page may take a minute or two to load as it contains pictures of our wonderful science projects.

Please be patient.  Thank you.

Every year pupils in the senior school conduct a science investigation.

For this we think up a science- related question and carry out an investigation to answer that question.

The whole idea of these experiments is not to research the answer but to learn as you follow the steps needed to conduct an investigation successfully and present it neatly.

There are four main steps to follow.

They are: the question, hypothesis ( or prediction), then present the findings (or results) for the experiments.

The conclusion is the last main step.

A very important step is to present your work to the highest possible standard of neatness and creativity.

Over the last three years sample investigations have included:

What do snails like to eat the most?

Which is more effective? Warm water or cold water washing?

How high do mung beans grow when watered with different liquids?

Which soil sample absorbs the most water?

This year our investigations take place in Term 4.
